Friday, August 3, 2001 -

Roanoke Central Branch YMCA Women's 200 Freestyle Relay broke the record they set in prelims with a time of 1:49.31. Erin Tudor, Clare Woodall-Gainey, Mandy Huff and Bernetta McGuire showed they still had plenty of energy left to lead a fast field to their record victory.

What a way to start the day! Roanoke Central Branch YMCA, VA, Women's 200 Freestyle Relay team of Erin Tudor, Clare Woodall-Gainey, Mandy Huff, and Bernetta McGuire swam a record time of 1:49.95.

Thursday, August 2, 2001 -

In the Mens 50 Butterfly, Adam Dehne from Gamble-Nippert Ohio YMCA broke the record with a 25.45. But Jayme Cramer, M.E. Lyons YMCA, OH, had already touched the wall at 25.30!

Upper Main Line YMCA's Mark Knepley set a record of 51.52 in the Men's 100 Freestyle. Way to go! Mark!

And another still! Clare Woodall-Gainey, Roanoke Central YMCA, swam a 57.87 to break the old 100 Free record of 58.41.

Wow! In the first event of the evening the 400 Individual Medley record was broken by two swimmers. Brittany Johnson, Winston-Salem YMCA, swam a time of 5:00.20. But our new record holder is Ashley Carusone from North Central Florida YMCA, who won the event with a time of 4:57.06 -- SMASHING the old record of 5:00.73.

In Prelims, Brittany Johnson started the 800 Free Relay by setting a new record for her 200 Free with a time of 2:05.64

Wednesday, August 1, 2001 -

M.E. Lyons is HOT tonight! Their Women's 400 Free Relay team of Betsy Jo Brockman, Ellen Magee, Katie Ball, and Megan Tomes combined for a record time of 3:58.73.

Another record! Marty Tomes, M.E. Lyons, Cincinnati, OH swam a 56.20 in the 100 Butterfly.

Our first record of the evening -- Sam Masson from Boise Family YMCA, Idaho, established a new record in the Men's 100 Backstroke of 57.93.


Tuesday, July 31st, 2001 -

Jayme Cramer, M.E. Lyons YMCA, Cincinnati, OH set a 50 Backstroke record as lead-off swimmer in the Men's 200 Medley Relay with a time of 26.29. The relay team set a new record of 1:46.68. The other swimmers were Rob Krauscher, Peter Carothers, and Matthew Bertke.

Clare Woodall-Gainey, Roanoke Central Branch YMCA, Virginia sets a new record in the Women's 50 Freestyle with a time of 26.76.

Brittany Johnson, Winston-Salem Forsyth City YMCA, NC betters her record at finals in the Women's 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:20.39

Brittany Johnson, Winston-Salem Forsyth City YMCA in North Carolina sets a new record in the Women's 200 Individual Medley of 2:21.83.

Gamble-Nippert Ohio YMCA sets a new record in the Women's 200 Medley Relay of 2:01.96. The swimmers were Jacque Fessel, Katie Hunter, Liz Schoborg and Carolyn McHugh.
