Well, I had another great day at the Long Course YMCA Championships.  I didn’t swim but still had a lot of fun.  I watched my teammates make more “best times” and yet again, our team came back for finals.  My fellow team member placed 6th in the 200 backstroke.  All the races were awesome, some extremely close!  At finals, I couldn’t even imagine how it must feel to have your named displayed for all to see.  What a rush!  I am sure that all that adrenaline surely helped some people overcome their nervousness.

Tomorrow is my last day at Long Course YMCA Nationals.  I am excited about my final event, the 100 breaststroke.  I hope to improve my time and even qualify for the Short Course YMCA Nationals in long course meters.  I have overcome most of my jitters, but there is still some left over from Wednesday.  They should help tomorrow in my race against the clock, along with lots of encouragement from friends and family.

All this happiness and excitement does come with a bittersweet ending.  My coach, Mike, will take part in his last coaching duties tomorrow at the meet.  I am sad that we will lose such a great coach but happy that he will make us all proud as a school administrator.

I should be getting some shut- eye now; if I don’t, I may never get to sleep! Goodnight!
