Second day of the meet, and we have finally gotten the guys back at night! Not only did Adam Schauer make it back in his 200 free but their 400 free relay won consuls. Our hero, Jessica Botzum, had an awesome 200 breastroke in the morning and managed to take the top seed! Tonight she had a disappointing finals swim, but quickly recovered with her 100 fly winning 11^th. Although our girls 400 free relay made it back last year, we were not quick enough to do so this time. Upset with our placement, yet pleased with our performance, our determination to make finals grew stronger. However, us girls did find a way to compensate for absence in the pool. All of us wore of purple shorts that read “CAPITAL” across the butt and rolled up our shorts. We painted the message “WE LOVE CY MEN” on our tummies, each with one letter. (Go ahead….look at the picture!). It was a real hit! The guys loved it and so did many of the other athletes. Although there was this one girl who claimed that we looked stupid….if only she had a mirror to look at herself!! Just kidding, we know that jealously can make you say some rude comments.

Well, as a senior, I wish my performance today had been better, but I’ve had so much fun with my teammates, which is of the utmost importance since I only have three days left with them! I love them all and am going to miss them terribly!
