Hey Everyone,
This is the last day of Summer
Nationals 2002. It has come to the
point were I am glad to be leaving but also sad. I have truly enjoyed my first year as a YMCA swimmer and my first
time attending Nationals. Although I
performed extremely well, I know that I could have done better, that’s what
will make next year even sweeter.
Before I conclude this day I would like to say thanks to the University,
coaches, parents, officials, and everyone else who made this experience come
alive for us swimmers. We couldn’t be
who we are without you. To Paul, thanks
for being the best coach and pumping us up for this meet. If it weren’t for you I would not be
swimming like I am today. To my
teammates, I had a wonderful week spent with you. We have made stronger bonds that will never be broken. Also, I
would like to give a huge thanks to my parents, I love you! Next year will be even better; I can’t
believe how far I have come because of the support and love you have given me.
The ANA Hurricanes ended with a
bang. Our 200 Freestyle Relay did great
(Sarah, Kate, Kelsey, and me). Kira
swam the 200 Fly. That takes guts! She swam a best time and us girls were
really proud of her. In the 50
backstroke Kate and Courtney (first time swim!!!) did awesome. I also swam the 50 backstroke and knocked a
second of my time. In the 100
breaststroke Lizzy, Amy, and Sarah amazed me again and all achieved best times. In the 400 Medley Relay Kate, Amy, Sarah,
and I swam from our hearts, trying with all our energy to make it back. It didn’t happen, but I am not
disappointed. Next year we will all be
back faster and stronger than ever.
I truly enjoyed being at Nationals
and it was an experience I will cherish.
Hopefully in the next two years I will create even more memorable
experiences. Once again thank you to
all who helped get us swimmers here.
Massachusetts, we are coming home!
Until
Next Time…
All
my love,
Liz
