I am honored to be here today representing my team and the teams all over the nation. I believe that there is an indescribable magic in the air this morning. A feeling very few are given the opportunity to sense, and even fewer to appreciate. As we swim this week don’t loose sight of what is really important, the things that you love about this sport.  The everlasting friendships, the unwavering dedication and support from your coaches. The love and strength from your family. The laughter and the stories you know you will be telling and laughing about for months to come, knowing that nothing compares to the smiles, the hugs, and to the joyful tears. The passion, the intensity, the spirit. The feeling that all the hours of training, the early mornings, and the sacrifices are completely worth it. Participating in a tradition as unique as this. The smell of chlorine, surviving the warm up, the showers, and your teammates lined up behind your lane, cheering you on. Anticipation, nerves, success. Years from now few will remember the place they finished or their exact times. What people will remember are the smiles and the memories. This is a once in a lifetime experience. Treasure it and have fun!

And now, please join me in prayer, Dear Lord, thank you for the opportunities that lie before us today. Please give us strength as we embark on our own personal challenges. Help us to act with grace and guide us to our goals, whatever they may be. Amen
