April 2, 2002

Opening Ceremonies started off the 2002 season on a positive note. There was everything from MULLETS to the Statue of Liberty. But there were other things than the great costumes. Good attitudes and team unity filled the stadium as well. Everywhere you looked there were people cheering for their teammates. Being my second year here, I knew what to expect, and I tried to help the younger swimmers out. The great thing about swimming in a big meet like this is there always something new and exciting to look forward to. Swimmers are probably the most random and fun people in the world of sports. We can have fun doing just about anything. A long plane trip or car ride can be made into a fast, fun trip. Other than having the most fun, swimmers have the most dedication out of any athletes. All of the hard work and perseverance leads up to this meet, which makes it very exciting indeed. That’s all for now, and remember, MULLETS ROCK!
