Today was my second day at nationals. I came early and swam a warm-up before the meet started. After watching other friends’ swim I prepared for the 400 IM in the time trials. I was hoping to do good after the way my 100 fly went the other day. I felt good and confident. So I had a great race. I drop several seconds and almost made another national cut. I am now here watching finals again and then we are going out to dinner again. It was another great and exciting day.

Today was a very tiring but fun day at the YMCA swimming and diving nationals. My only event today was the 200 back and had hoped to make finals since I was seated seventeenth. But I came out disappointed, but right at my best time. I had ended up nineteenth and my coach and my family were happy so I was happy. Fellow swimmers from teams from where I live swam well today. Their women’s 800 free relay came back tonight but still has yet to swim. Their men’s 800 free relay is seated second for tonight and is shooting to win. Along with that some other swimmers from other teams around my area are also shooting to score points tonight at finals. I hope they do well.

The meet is more than half over, but I still haven’t swum my event yet. Time trials are going good though; I’m three for three. Today was exciting, there were two swim-offs after the preliminary round finished. Now the anticipation is building, less than 24 hours until my first (and hopefully not last) Spring National swim. I don’t have much to talk about today, but I’m sure I will have some good stories for tomorrow.
