4/7/06 - Everyone must have been saving up those record swims for tonight. To start the evening, both Corinne Showalter from the Sarasota YMCA in Florida AND Leah Gingrich from the West Shore YMCA broke the 1650 yard Freestyle record. Everyone had to turn to the scoreboard to see that Leah touched at 16:17.34 to Corinne's 16:17.36. Who said the 1650 is boring? Oh, and the old record - 16:19.05.

In the next event, both Ryan Crete of the Sarasota YMCA and Charlie Houchin of the YMCA of the Triangle in North Carolina also cruised past the old record of 15:15.84. Ryan touched the wall with a 15:12.33 but was still second to Charlie's 15:10.41.

Congratulations to all of our athletes for another incredible meet.

4/6/06 - Well, no records broken today but a whole lot of great swimming and diving. Be sure to check out the Full Results and Scores. We add new Photos everyday (including some new ones on some of the past days). And a couple of our athletes are trying to keep everyone updated on what's going on with their daily blogs.

4/5/06 - The Men's 1000 Free Record was obviously a little slow, at least for Charlie Houchin from YMCA of the Triangle Area. With half a pool length left to swim the announcer was already screaming "Charlie Houchin breaks the old record!". That too slow record -- 9:08.73. Charlie's time-- 9:02.94. Wow!

4/4/06 - Congratulations to the YMCA of the Triangle Women's 200 Medley Relay team of Candace Cooper, Lisa Pucci, Jessalyn Crawford and Teresa Long. They set a new meet record with a time of 1:43.94.

4/4/06 - Do you have an athlete here at the meet but you are watching the website from home? Do you want to let them know how terrific you think they're doing? Bent Stems is the official flower vendor for the meet. You can order flowers for you athlete and let them pick them up right here at the pool. To order call 954-328-6337 or email bentstems@aol.com and reference YMCA Flowers in the subject line. Be sure to include your phone number so they can call you to describe what they have available and get your payment information. Make sure to give them your athlete's name and team. Also indicate if you want the flowers presented at an event at finals -- or simply given to your athlete anytime during the meet. For Finals presentation, you must order by noon EDT. There is a minimum $15 order.
