OLYMPIAN - JOSH DAVIS

US Olympic Gold Medalist Josh Davis on hand to present awards at YMCA Nationals

Josh Davis IS swimming.  On any given day, whether he's commentating a swim meet, relating his relay team experience to corporate executives, or encouraging school children to pursue excellence, he is talking about the swimming experiences that changed and defined his life.  That's where he really shines!

Josh is a Olympic gold medalist, and former world record-holder having represented the USA at two consecutive Summer Olympics.  At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, he won gold medals by swimming for the winning U.S. teams in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay and 4x200-meter freestyle relay and earned a third gold medal by swimming for the first-place U.S. team in the preliminary heats of the 4x100-meter medley relay.  One of his proudest moments:  "Being the only male athlete in the world to win three gold medals at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia"

Four years later at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, he served as the captain of the U.S. swimming team. At the 2000 Olympics, he won silver medals swimming for the second-place U.S. teams in the preliminary heats of the 4x100-meter freestyle relay, and the final of the 4x200-meter freestyle relay. He placed fourth in the 200-meter freestyle.

He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where he swam for coach Eddie Reese's Texas Longhorns swimming and diving team in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) competition.

Today Josh is also a masterful swim clinician - he's the founder and the CEO of the Mutual of Omaha Breakout! Swim Clinic.  Josh is not just somewhere, but seemingly everywhere in the country where he impacts thousands of swimmers and their parents as he reaches out to teach, encourage and inspire everyone to be the best they can be.
