If a swimmer "swims up"an age group, does the time count for his/her age group records and or district qualification? Example: a 10 yr old swims up in 11-12 race and sets a 9-10 record, does it stand as a 9-10 record ? Likewise, if he/she meets appropriate time, does it qualify them for 9-10 districts?

Is the question not appropriate?, the wrong place?, or just no answer yet?

This is a national forum to discuss YMCA Competitive Swimming Rules and Regulations as well as our national meets. The answer to your question concerning a team record would be best answered by either your coach or Aquatic Director. Your coach should also be able to answer whether a time recorded in a higher age group is permitted as a seed time in a lower age group event.
