This summer we are changing our uniforms for the finals sessions each evening. We will continue to wear our navy pants, while ladies have the option to wear navy capris. As for shirt tops, in lieu of white golf shirts, we will wear a short sleeve, light blue, button down, Oxford cloth shirt. This uniform will be worn by the Assigned Team also, in lieu of the customary attire of Blue blazer, white dress shirt with tie, and white pants. Women have the option to select the men's shirt or wear a ladies short sleeve, straight collar, buttons down the front, light blue, Oxford shirt. In order to provide some guidance as to color and style, we have provided some model numbers from the Lands' End website for you to view. We are not suggesting that you purchase from Lands' End but felt this site had the best pictures for examples. Prices vary based on material chosen wherever you choose to make a purchase. SWIM OFFICIAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES AT NATIONALS
(Click link) The YMCA Long Course National Championship Meet is coming to the Midwest! As you know, Long Course Nationals is being held in Indianapolis this Summer. As part of the program, we will be holding a Swim Officials Trainer course on Sunday, July 27th, and Monday, July 28th (the practicum portion of the program), and we will integrate it with the required Facilitation Skills training. New Trainer candidates will be able to do both classes as part of this combined offering. This is the first time we have been off the East Coast in many years, and it may offer opportunities to attract more Trainer candidates from the Midwest and Plains States. We will also be offering Level I and II Swim Officials training on Monday, July 28th.
The criteria for becoming a Swim Officials' Trainer are attached. All criteria must be met, with credit given for comparable USA-S experience. Applications must include a brief bio of the candidate's experiences as they relate to the criteria as well as the requisite recommendation letters. Trainer candidates must file an application with Y-USA by no later than Friday, July 11, 2014. Candidates can access the application on-line at YMCA Exchange (https://lcdc.yexchange.org/catalog/class/detail/176479), or by contacting Bridgett Zeitler at Y-USA. ....More
