8/8/07 - I apologize. I was unaware until today that the Combined Team Scores and the links to Devotions for Tuesday Evening and Friday Morning were not working. They are now. Again, I'm sorry.

8/3/07 - Well, the final day saw no new records but Middle Tyger walked away with the Combined Team 1st Place Trophy, the Men's Team 1st Place Trophy, and the Women's Team 1st Place Trophy. Congratulations to them and all of the teams and athletes at the meet. It was a pleasure being here. Thanks to all swimmers, coaches, spectators, and volunteers for making this a truly great meet. And tremendous kudos to the University of Maryland's Eppley Recreation Center pool staff for welcoming us and being there whenever and wherever we needed them.

8/2/07 - At only 14 years old, Anne Arundel's Emily Lloyd broke the 100M Freestyle record tonight. Her time of 57.51 broke the old mark of 57.86. Congratulations Emily! Also on Thursday, the Middle Tyger Women's 800 Freestyle Relay set a new record of 8:35.84 breaking the old record of 8:38.28. Swimming the relay for Middle Tyger were Elizabeth Greenway, Laura Simon, Haley Lips and Reagan Carne.

8/1/07 - Another day complete!  Tonight Middle Tyger YMCA's Haley Lips broke the Women's 100 Fly record (prior record: 1:02.48) with a time of 1:02.37. It looks like we have our own Haley's Comet!

8/1/07 - We were having trouble getting them on the board the first night, but starting tonight, Wednesday, we'll be posting your messages for your swimmers on our scoreboard before award presentations. Just post a message in our "Hello from Home" forum. Please make it short (3 - 5 lines of 15 characters per line max) and of course make sure it meets Y  values. We can't promise when it will appear but I know the swimmers and teams would love to read how excited you are for them!

7/31/07 - Our first day was wonderful. Be sure to check the Photo section to see some of the pictures -- especially of the Opening Ceremony Parade!  We discoed the night away! All of that dancing must not have slowed our swimmers. In the Women's 400 Freestyle, Caroline Smith from Winston Salem YMCA broke the old record of 4:20.60 with a finals time of 4:19.91. Courtney Beidler, Tri-Hampton Branch, touched at 4:20.07 taking second with her record-breaking finish. Scott Marino, of Fanwood-Scotch Plains boogied his way to a record-breaking time of 2:07.29 in the Men's 200 IM!

7/31/07 - Welcome to the start of the 2007 YMCA National Long Course Swimming Championship. We are posting the heat sheets but please remember that the times on the heat sheet are "not to start before" times. All swimmers in that event should be ready at the time stated. But the heat is not guaranteed to start AT that time. Also realize that the website is our last priority. Our first priority is to run the meet. That includes verifying and posting all results, updating the scoreboard, etc. We hope you understand.
