COME JOIN US AT SCNATS
Come join us in Greensboro, NC, March 30-April 3 for the 2020 YMCA Short Course Nationals. The venue is the Greensboro Aquatics Center located at 1921 W Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27403. With over 1,400 swimmers expected, the 2020 championship is not only an exposition of outstanding swimming competition but also a celebration of achievements by these young athletes. Join us and experience a world-class swimming venue, enjoy the antics of the "infamous" YMCA GateGuys, meet an Olympian at the Athlete Party, and dance and sing to the "Y.M.C.A." song. And let's not forget the Parade of Athletes. And if this is not enough, meet four college/university swim coaches who will provide insight into the college recruiting process. Watch all-day swimming with morning prelims, afternoon time trials, and evening finals. Purchase commemorative apparel. Get an autograph from (and maybe even a picture with) an Olympian.

CANCELLATION OF 2020 YMCA LONG COURSE NATIONALS
To all YMCA Long Course athletes, families and coaches: As the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve, YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) remains focused on supporting YMCAs and our communities through unprecedented and unpredictable circumstances. The pandemic has severely impacted sporting and athletic events for 2020, including the NCAA, NHL, MLB and several others. It has also led to the International Olympic Committee's decision to postpone the Summer Olympic Games for the first time in history, from 2020 until 2021. In light of the current reality, and in order to reduce the risk to all athletes, coaches and spectators, Y-USA has made the decision to cancel the YMCA Long Course National Championship, scheduled to take place in Greensboro, North Carolina July 28 - August 1, 2020. This was not an easy decision for Y-USA to make. We recognize this will be incredibly disappointing for the athletes, teams and families who were looking forward to the Long Course competition season. We will continue to work to find ways to recognize and honor the achievements and hard work of athletes and teams who will not get to compete in 2020. We will share further updates as they become available. Thank you for your understanding as we work to ensure the viability, health and safety of our Y community. Sincerely, YMCA of the USA

YMCA LCNATS MEET COMMITTEE EXAMINING POTENTIAL ADJUSTMENTS
The Long Course YMCA National Championship Meet Committee understands that the cancellation of a significant number of short course YMCA championship meets, including the 2020 Short Course YMCA National Championships, has affected the ability of some athletes to achieve and/or meet the qualifying requirements for the 2020 Long Course Meet. In consideration of these lost opportunities, the Committee is examining potential adjustments to the qualification requirements for the meet this summer. After thorough and thoughtful discussion is complete, an announcement will be posted on the YMCA Swimming and Diving website and sent via e-mail to all registered YMCA coaches. We expect to make an announcement by the end of April. Thank you for all that you have put into the 2019-20 short course YMCA swimming season and we look forward to helping your athletes realize their potential this summer in Greensboro.
